Stuart Goldfarb is a Partner in our Corporate M&A practice group. With more than 20 years of experience representing and advising clients, Stuart has focused his practice on the sports, media, and entertainment industries.

Stuart has represented regulatory bodies, leagues, and teams across several sports. Stuart’s clients in soccer have included the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the sport’s world governing body, and CONCACAF, the governing body for the region comprising North and Central America and the Caribbean, and he has engaged extensively with the United States Soccer Federation and Major League Soccer. Additionally, he has led legal and business affairs for Pelé. Stuart was a key player in the founding of the relaunched North American Soccer League in 2009, which led to a reshaping of the soccer pyramid in the United States. Stuart has additionally advised the near 100 team National Premier Soccer League (the fourth division league in the United States) as outside General Counsel.

Stuart has also represented professional sports teams in the United States and internationally, as well as European leagues and teams in connection with their business activities in the United States. Stuart’s practice additionally includes the representation of buyers and sellers of teams, and technology, marketing, sponsorship, media rights and other businesses (at various stages of development) engaged in the sports marketplace.

Stuart advises clients on all aspects of business, including corporate (acquisitions/dispositions, financings, restructurings and general corporate), intellectual property (trademark, licensing, media rights), regulatory, employment and litigation matters.
