DAS partner Frederick P. Bimbler and all of us congratulate client Sofia Vergara on her Golden Globe nomination today for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television” for her role as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on the hit comedy series Modern Family. The nomination comes a day after her Screen Actors Guild nomination for “Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series”. This marks her third consecutive year nominated individually for each of these awards.
The ensemble she is a part of on Modern Family was nominated for the fourth year in a row (with two wins, 2011, 2012) for a SAG Award for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series”. (Update: Congratulations on their SAG Award win in this category). And Modern Family was nominated today for the fourth year in a row (with one win, 2012) for a Golden Globe for “Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy”.
This adds to Ms. Vergara’s three Emmy nominations for this role along with a variety of other nominations and awards for herself individually and for the show generally.
The 70th Golden Globes Awards ceremony will air live Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 8pm EST on NBC. The 19th Annual SAG Awards will air live Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 8pm EST on TNT.
