arrie Fisher begins a two-week run of her one-woman show Wishful Drinking this week at Dayton’s Victoria Theatre.
Wishful Drinking has completed sold-out runs across the U.S., won the Outer Critics Circle Award, and it was filmed for what became an Emmy-nominated HBO special last year. Alternately wry, uproarious and sobering, Wishful Drinking recounts Carrie Fisher’s life in a family of Hollywood legends, Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, her adventures as a cultural icon after starring as Princess Leia in Star Wars at 19 years-old and how her life was forever changed. She received a Grammy nomination in the Spoken Word Album category for her memoir Wishful Drinking, and the book was on the New York Times bestseller list for 14 weeks. Her bestselling follow-up memoir Shockaholic released in late 2011 to critical praise.
Frederick P. Bimbler represents Carrie Fisher and the production.
