Calvin Mohammadi is a transactional attorney in the firm’s Entertainment practice group, with a focus on television, film, digital and social media transactions.
Calvin has a depth of experience preparing and negotiating development, production, distribution, financing and licensing deals for television and motion picture studios, production companies and rightsholders. Calvin’s work encompasses scripted and unscripted television, SVOD and AVOD projects, documentary and scripted motion pictures, digital episodic productions, podcasts and VR/AR projects.
Calvin also has significant experience in marketing, advertising and promotions in the entertainment and sports industries, and has counseled multi-national brands, advertising agencies, motion picture and television studios and celebrities in connection with various branded entertainment transactions, including sponsorship and endorsement deals, marketing services and joint promotion agreements, and cutting-edge interactive marketing ventures involving emerging technologies. Calvin has a particular specialty in the social media space, having prepared, negotiated and closed hundreds of social media marketing agreements between brands and agencies on the one hand, and influencers, musicians, actors, designers and athletes on the other.
Calvin has also counseled clients on copyright, trademark, publicity and other intellectual property licensing issues. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced at Jenner & Block and DLA Piper.
