erlin/New York: Tribeca Film announced it has acquired North American rights to Side by Side, after its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival. The documentary is an illuminating journey exploring the transition from film to digital technology and its implications, featuring top directors, producers, cinematographers and many others. Produced and hosted by Keanu Reeves and directed by Chris Kenneally, it is a compelling look at the past and future of cinema. Variety notes the fair use clips featured in the film, an aspect CDAS Partner Marc H. Simon’s work focused on. The deal was negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers by Marc H. Simon and producer and client Justin Szlasa.
The family drama Arcadia won the festival’s Crystal Bear. Marc H. Simon is providing production legal services for the film, packaging it for distribution and represents the film’s producer Jai Stefan and his company Shrink Media, as well as the lead financier Jeremy Bailer and his company Madrose Productions. Mr. Simon was also an executive producer on the film.
