Susan Bodine represents a diverse clientele in the motion picture, television, and digital media industries. Her clients include publicly-held motion picture studios, television networks, media lenders, private equity financiers, as well as production and distribution companies, individual directors, writers, and producers. Recently, Ms. Bodine’s practice has expanded to include representation of various web-based, entertainment-oriented businesses. Ms. Bodine provides clients with counsel in all phases of development, finance, production, distribution, and rights administration regarding motion pictures, television programming and new media properties. She also handles domestic and international clients’ issues with rights acquisitions, production legal work, film and television sales and licensing.
Ms. Bodine has been an adjunct professor of Entertainment Law at Pierce Law Center’s Summer Institute of Intellectual Property and a guest instructor at Columbia University Graduate Film Program. She is a frequent speaker in the US and South America, on motion picture practice in the US, production, financing, distribution, international co- production, for number of organizations including the MPAA and the Latin American Training Center. She has been a speaker for the NYS Bar Association, California Bar Association, Practicing Law Institute, the Sundance Institute, SXSW Film Festival, and the Miami Film Festival.
Ms. Bodine regularly attends the Cannes Film Festival, the Sundance Film Festival, the Berliniale, the Toronto Film Festival, the American Film Market and various other film events. She has been included in numerous listings of prominent entertainment attorneys, including by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.
