Andy Miller is a transactional attorney counseling clients in entertainment, focusing on television, film and digital in all platforms. Andy also represents production companies and studios in a business affairs capacity. He has exposure in the television, cable, digital, animated and feature worlds, with A-list talent, minors and everything in-between. He has negotiated deals as an artist and as an attorney and believes in getting to yes while protecting the interests of his client.
Andy is a member of SAG and the WGA, founded a production company, is an Emmy nominated producer and has won a Peabody award for his work as a staff writer on “Friday Night Lights.”
Andy started his legal career as an associate at the law firm Doyle & Miller, where he acquired experience on all platforms and with a wide array of clients. Andy then practiced as in-house counsel at The Disney Channel, TBS and TNT where he negotiated and drafted production agreements, license agreements and above and below the line deals for both scripted, non-scripted and animated television shows, overseeing the projects from acquisition through development, production, distribution and to exhibition, providing legal advice at each step as the production attorney on such projects. Some of the shows Andy has provided legal services for are “The Walking Dead,” “Good Behavior,” “The Detour,” “Tarantula,” “Wrecked,” “Shake It Up” and “Make Your Mark.”
Additionally, Andy is an adjunct professor at Loyola University’s Television and Film School, teaching students the legal pitfalls a filmmaker should avoid.
